A LOCAL group has decorated a Burntwood park with a display of hands to mark International Day of Friendship. The display of hands was created by Burntwood WI members at Princes Park to mark the United Nations event. Secretary Judy Griffiths said:“We thought it would be a lovely way to celebrate International Day of Friendship at our local park and invite the community to join us.” Cllr Sue Woodward, Chair of Burntwood Town Council, who attended the display, said:“I’m grateful to Judy and the members of Burntwood WI for inviting me to their International Day of Friendship event. “The group has the knack of taking international issues and translating them into local action in our little corner of the world to raise awareness and to bring joy to Princes Park via their display.
