How the Russians would attack London, Paris or Berlin when they are mired in the war with Ukraine is never explained. Instead, Russia is painted as an expansionist power addicted to war which must be stopped at any cost. At almost the exact same time Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, said in an interview that Europe and the US were behind Kyiv’s war on Russia. These Ukrainian strikes are in fact being carried out by European weapons systems attacking oil infrastructure deep inside Russia. But that will not happen because our rulers are now directly involved in a war with Russia and domestically the supposed Russian threat drives both increased military spending and fresh austerity measures – the two go together.
