Stellantis is recalling more than 1 million Jeep Wrangler SUVs and Gladiator pickup trucks in the United States over a fire risk linked to a faulty electrical connection in the electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring. Scope of the recallThe recall covers about 787,887 Jeep Wrangler vehicles and about 289,112 Jeep Gladiator vehicles, all from the 2021 through 2025 model years. Fires documented before recall was filedThis recall was influenced by an investigation NHTSA opened after receiving multiple reports of fires. In September 2024, NHTSA’s Office of Defect Investigations opened a formal investigation (PE24-024) into engine compartment fires on 2021, 2023 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles. The Wrangler and Gladiator recall follows multiple similar park-outside recall warnings for owners of Jeep’s plug-in hybrid versions of the Wrangler and the Grand Cherokee SUV due to fire risk.
