(Lindsey Plotkin/Victoria Advocate)Everyone in Victoria knew that, for years, an event hadn’t officially begun until Brother Gary Moses arrived. For the man who seemed to know everyone in the city, hundreds gathered Wednesday at the Gary Moses Community Center to celebrate his life and the legacy he leaves behind. With his older brother, Mike Moses, and nieces Kristin Moses and Misty Baruday seated in the front row, those in attendance laughed, cried and embraced one another on what would have been Gary Moses’ 77th birthday. While there may never be another Brother Gary, Kristin Moses hopes his example inspires others to lead with kindness, compassion and unconditional love.
