DANBURY, CT — Danbury police are warning residents against misinformation circulating online regarding the identity of a woman suspected of being the driver in an alleged July 13 DUI crash that killed an off-duty Bridgeport cop and his girlfriend.
In a Wednesday night post on its Facebook page, the Danbury Police Dept.
Police clarified that the suspect was Melissa Esperanza Ramirez of Stamford.
A July 24 press release had identified the woman only as Melissa Ramirez, 27, and said that she had been taken into custody in Stamford but did not list a city of residence.
The online people search database Spokeo lists 19 people named Melissa Ramirez in Connecticut, although the listings are compiled from publicly available documents and there are numerous discrepancies and ambiguities in the listings.
