The Smashing Pumpkins are one of the Lollapalooza headliners this weekend (they play on Friday night), and ahead of their festival set they played a much more intimate Chicago show at Riviera Theatre on Wednesday night. They had a few surprises in store for the occasion, perhaps the least expected of which was when they brought out Barry Williams, who played Greg Brady on The Brady Bunch. Williams, who was a guest on Billy Corgan’s “The Magnificent Others” podcast in May, joined the Pumpkins on, what else, Brady Bunch classic “It’s a Sunshine Day.” Public Enemy had played Chicago’s Credit Union 1 Amphitheater earlier in the evening, opening for Guns N’ Roses.
