Multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Steve Stout resides in Nashville, Tennessee, and is the owner of Shabby Road Studio. i wanna buy a beach house is Stout’s third full-length release, out now, and was the first record fully written and recorded at Shabby Road. Writing and performances feature Hiss Golden Messenger, Blondfire, Jason Wade, Jude Cole, Walker Igleheart (Bangles, Melissa Etheridge), drummer/collaborator Andrew Kahl, and a few others. Arranged by Jordan Lehning, the strings and woodwinds flit around Stout’s piano and vocal tracks, swelling from playfulness to a flight of fancy. At just over two and a half minutes, “some bird” is a delightful escape from the mundane.
