SALISBURY — On Saturday, Rowan County Public Health will join communities across the world in kickstarting World Breastfeeding Week. Rowan County Public Health’s WIC Program will host an informational event Saturday, from 8 a.m. to noon at during the Salisbury Farmers Market at 228 East Kerr St. “World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) is a global campaign to raise awareness and galvanize action on themes related to breastfeeding,” reads information from the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action. She explained that World Breastfeeding Week is usually celebrated the first week of August. “It’s basically an opportunity to learn about breastfeeding at the WIC program,” Gagliardi said.
