Effective today, Thursday July 30, at 12 p.m. MT, a park-wide fire ban will be implemented in Kootenay National Park. This expands on the fire ban already in effect at Redstreak Campground and will apply throughout the rest of the park. This fire ban includes all open fires and prohibits the use of the following items:Campfires (wood or briquette);Barbecues (wood, charcoal or briquette);Outdoor wood burning stoves (including cooking shelters);Turkey fryers;Tiki torches;Candles.
