Elliot added that facilitating evacuations from dangerous areas is the county sheriff’s role during wildfires. “We are doing our best to help our neighbors, our community and Crook County as a whole,” Wilson said. He noted the historic nature of the fires, but said that considerable have amassed in Crook County to fight them and protect property.
