According to a Baltimore Banner article, Maryland will receive more than $13 million from seven generic opioid manufacturers as part of a new nationwide settlement. The settlements involve Alvogen, Amneal, Apotex, Hikma, Mylan, Sun, and Zydus, manufacturers of generic opioid medications including oxycodone, hydrocodone, and fentanyl patches. As front-line responders, they are using opioid settlement funds to expand prevention, treatment, recovery, harm reduction, and public safety initiatives tailored to local needs.
