The other trail will provide a pathway between Belville’s Riverwalk Park and surrounding facilities like Belville Elementary School. It will connect Navassa’s Phoenix Park to the Brunswick Nature Park and include signage detailing the history of the Gullah Geechee people. Neighboring Navassa has deep roots with the Gullah Geechee, as many of its residents are descendants. The Gullah Geechee Trail will connect to the Riverwalk extension, which will be about 14 miles upon completion. Belville’s Riverwalk extension would connect Riverwalk Park to Belville Elementary School and include a new intersection with traffic signals, a new park entrance and parking lot expansion.
