PORTLAND — Maine Roller Derby is thrilled to be starting their 20th anniversary season by recruiting new members. “If you’re interested in joining as a skater or skating official, you’ll need to have a few basic skating skills first. Maine Roller Derby is a 501c3 nonprofit whose mission is to promote the sport of roller derby, maintain a competitive athletic program in the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association and make a positive impact in our community. MRD is the longest-running and largest roller derby league based in the state of Maine. Through its Skatership program and community engagement, Maine Roller Derby strives to make roller derby accessible to all.
