FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – A traffic stop led to a drug arrest in Franklin County. On July 29 at approximately 10am, a Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy observed an ATV being operated on the roadway near Illinois State Highway 148 and Peach Orchard Road. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was identified as 52 year old John Baxter Jr. of Coello. Baxter was charged with Driving While License Revoked, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Methamphetamine. He was taken to the Franklin County Jail.
