INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Governor Mike Braun today directed the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) to participate in the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation’s BALANCE demonstration, expanding access to select GLP-1 medications for eligible Indiana Medicaid members living with obesity. The agreement increases access to obesity treatment for eligible Medicaid beneficiaries, providing Hoosiers and their healthcare providers with effective treatment options while giving the state a predictable pricing structure. “Indiana is proud to expand access to essential treatment for eligible Hoosiers. We’re proud our home state is taking action to expand access to obesity treatment, so more Hoosiers can get the care they need.” Increasing access to obesity treatment has the potential to help more Hoosiers remain in the workforce, return to work and reduce reliance on public assistance programs.
