Traffic has backed up across south Essex as a result, with access cut off from Sadlers Farm roundabout into Benfleet. He said: "In full co-ordination with the highways authority, we are doing a section of the works on London Road with a full road closure. "By doing this three-week road closure - in the summer holidays whilst traffic is less and working 24-hours-a-day - means our engineering work can be completed quicker. He said: "Throughout the road closure we have ensured that businesses remain open, their parking is available and residents are able to access their properties whilst maintaining the road closure."
