The statewide gas price average in Texas is now $3.64 for a gallon of regular unleaded, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch. That price is six cents less than a week ago and 86 cents more per gallon than on this day last year. Of the major metropolitan areas surveyed in Texas, drivers in El Paso are paying the most on average at $3.99 per gallon, while drivers in McAllen are paying the least at $3.49 per gallon. Attacks in the Middle East have escalated in the past week, but oil prices have remained below $100 a barrel so far. “The gas price drop across Texas indicates local supplies are more than adequate to meet demand right now,” said AAA Texas Corporate Communications Manager Doug Shupe.
