Further intelligence was also gathered to support ongoing investigations into suspected waste offences. Waste crime can include running illegal waste sites, transporting waste without the proper licences, unlawful burning and fly-tipping. The Environment Agency said tackling waste crime remains a priority and forms part of wider national efforts, including its recent Operation Unite campaign.
