Winnipeg police say a man was arrested this week in a Canada Border Services Agency drug trafficking investigation led by the RCMP.
The Winnipeg Police Service says the 37-year-old was arrested Tuesday at a home in the Peguis neighbourhood after being notified by RCMP.
Officers moved in shortly before 10 p.m., arrested the man, and allegedly seized a small amount of what they believe is cocaine from him.
After the arrest, police searched a home on Goodfellow Way and seized a semi-automatic rifle and semi-automatic shotgun – both with obliterated serial numbers – ammunition, cocaine and $150,000 in cash.
Christopher Athwal was charged with firearm and drug offences.
