Leading US soprano is in a coma Operanorman lebrecht July 30, 2026A stark message from Pittsburgh Festival Opera’s General Director Marianne Cornetti:Many of you know our beloved Artistic Administrator, cherished friend, and wonderful soprano, Danielle Pastin. It is with great sadness that I share that Danielle was involved in a horrific car accident last Thursday. She is currently in the Trauma ICU at Allegheny General Hospital with very serious injuries and remains in a coma. I want to make sure that all of Pittsburgh Festival Opera’s wonderful donors, patrons, and friends have the opportunity to support them by contributing to this fund. Danielle has performed leading roles at the Met and Santa Fe, as well as in Europe and China.
