LAMBTON SHORES – Huron Shores Area Transit has discontinued its Route 1 express service between Sarnia and Grand Bend due to lower than expected ridership. Article contentA press release from the transit system said the seasonal Route 1 express service was introduced to provide additional capacity during the summer months in anticipation of increased demand from seasonal workers and other riders travelling between Sarnia and Grand Bend, which included high usage stops in Lambton Shores. The release noted that “ridership has been significantly lower than in previous years . The cancellation only applies to the seasonal express service, and the regular Route 1 continues to operate without change, with three return trips daily, seven days a week between Sarnia and Grand Bend.
