The fire inflicted over £80,000 worth of damage on the Mormon church building, where Miss Moreno had been expected to exchange her wedding vows at the altar the following day. On the day before the ceremony, Miss Moreno and her fiancé visited Ace Hardware to buy hooks, her groom later told investigators. When questioned by police, Miss Moreno acknowledged having stolen from the hardware shop but refused to specify which items she had taken. Miss Moreno has been booked into Davis County Jail facing multiple charges. The probable cause document said: "It is believed that Lenita (Tessa) started a fire within a church building while 5 others were still inside."
