The event, organised by the Robert Hooke Society, took place in several locations across West Wight and was opened by the Isle of Wight West MP, Richard Quigley.
Born in Freshwater, Hooke, a contemporary of Sir Isaac Newton and a lifelong friend of Sir Christopher Wren, is considered one of the most significant scientists of his era.
The festival, which began on July 13, featured talks, science demonstrations, exhibitions, guided walks, and floral art.
As part of the celebrations, members of the society visited Freshwater and Yarmouth CE School to educate the children about Hooke's contributions.
The Robert Hooke Society aims to increase public awareness and appreciation of the life and achievements of this great man, who also played a key role in rebuilding London after the Great Fire of 1666.
