The theme was Inspirational Women and the first speaker was Dr Jean G-Owen, a local author and publisher, who spoke about the local publishing scene and own enterprise, Naked Figleaf Press. She judged the creative writing competition and awarded the cup to Mandy Neale of Alverstone WI. She spoke about her career and what it is like to work in the newsroom of the country's biggest-selling local weekly newspaper. Lori presented the County Press Shield to the correspondent of the year, which is an annual tradition.
