Money raised will be donated to St Columba's Hospice in Edinburgh, where she spent the final period of her life after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She passed away in October 2022 and an annual fly-in honours her, bringing people together at East Fortune airfield, which is owned by her husband David Pate. Aircraft will land this weekend (August 1 and 2) and there will also be a barbecue. The event doubles up as a celebration of 80 years since the LAA (Light Aircraft Association) was founded. The fly-in is weather dependent but organisers are optimistic that there will be a good turn-out.
