The Talbot Association will show Matt Talbot: Urban Mystic at the Glasgow Film Theatre (GFT) on Wednesday, September 16. The film tells the story of Matt Talbot, a 19th-century Dubliner whose journey from alcoholism to recovery and compassion became the inspiration for The Talbot Association. Born in 1856, Talbot struggled with alcohol from a young age while growing up in poverty in Dublin. The Talbot Association, which has served Glasgow for more than half a century, is named in his honour.
