(IN BRIEF) The Leverhulme Trust Board has announced three new Leverhulme Centenary Partnerships to support underrepresented groups at key early stages of research careers in the UK.
Professor Anna Vignoles, Director of the Leverhulme Trust, said the Trust has long recognised the need to support academics throughout their careers in order to maintain a vibrant research sector.
The Leverhulme Trust has invested £4 million to establish the three Centenary Partnerships.
The Royal Academy of Engineering and the Royal Society will collaborate to offer undergraduate research placements at universities across the UK.
He also said that hosting groups of such students can help institutions improve how they recruit, develop and retain research students.
