A routine FedEx delivery turned into an unexpected reptile roundup when an iguana escaped from its shipping box at a Memphis facility, sending employees scrambling. Duncan had planned to collect the iguana from the FedEx location because of the hot weather. FedEx permits certain harmless reptiles to be shipped overnight within the U.S., provided shippers receive prior approval and use approved packaging. The iguana is now safely settling into its new enclosure while adjusting to its surroundings. Duncan says he’ll wait about a week before regularly feeding and handling the reptile.
