Homeowners are being warned to cover or move mirrors and glass objects during the country's latest heatwave - after a fire broke out when sunlight reflected through a garden table. 'However, it's important to be aware that glass-topped tables, decorative garden mirrors, crystal ornaments, glass bottles and other curved or patterned glass objects can all pose a risk under the right conditions. The fire service also warned of a significant rise in deliberate outdoor fires across the county during the first week of the summer holidays. Areas of particular concern include Bramcote, where firefighters attended five deliberate outdoor fires within 24 hours, and Rayton Lane in Worksop, which saw four incidents over the six days. 'We have attended more than double the number of deliberate outdoor fires compared to the same period last year.
