A judge has ruled the cost of living for criminal barristers is 'tough' after fining a lawyer just £800 after he crashed his Mercedes breaking a woman's pelvis.
At Warrington Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, Humphries admitted causing serious injury by careless driving and was fined £800 with £720 in costs and banned from driving for a year.
The court heard that since the accident, Ms Heath has been unable to work and she subsequently lost her home.
The hotel itself is steeped in history, is set in 30 acres of land and boasts a Jacobean Great Hall.
