(AURN News) — According to a recent press release, Prince’s “Purple Rain” is coming to Broadway next spring at the Majestic Theatre.
Previews begin March 12, 2027, with opening night set for April 12.
Prince’s Purple Rain on Broadway TeaserThe musical is based on Prince’s Grammy-winning album and the Oscar-winning film and will feature more than 20 hit songs, including “When Doves Cry,” “I Would Die 4 U,” “Take Me with You” and “The Beautiful Ones.”
The production promises to honor Prince’s legacy while introducing his music and fearless creativity to a new generation.
The original film earned nearly $100 million worldwide and won an Academy Award.
