WASHINGTON (AURN News) — Todd Blanche’s nomination to become attorney general has stalled after the Senate Judiciary Committee postponed a vote on advancing his confirmation.
At issue are the concerns of Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C.
Both want the Justice Department to put its assurances in writing before they will move forward.
Critics say the agreement could shield Trump from future tax audits tied to returns filed before the deal.
Blanche continues to lead the Justice Department as acting attorney general, but his nomination remains before the committee, which has not said when — or if — the vote will be rescheduled.
