Health alert issued for frozen burritos sold at Costco stores in Illinois

Public health officials are warning people not to eat certain frozen burritos sold at Costco stores in Illinois, Michigan and Minnesota because of incorrect packaging that could result in a severe or life-threatening reaction if eaten.
The Food Service Inspection Service issued a public health alert for boxes of Red's Steak, Cilantro and Lime burritos Wednesday.
According to a letter sent to Costco members, some boxes "inadvertently" contain breakfast burritos made with egg -- a known allergen -- but that's not what is stated on the label.
The three-pound, green and white boxes were sold in the frozen sections of Midwestern Costco stores in Illinois, Michigan and Minnesota only.
The burritos are no longer sold in stores, but they could be consumers freezers, the FSIS warned.
