A small apartment fire caused minor damage Thursday morning at the Country Meadow Residences. According to the Manhattan Fire Department, crews responded just after 6 a.m. to 1300 Marlatt Ave., where firefighters found flames visible through the front window of a first-floor apartment in a two-story, eight-unit building. Eighteen firefighters on six apparatus responded and extinguished the fire within seven minutes of arriving on scene. The Manhattan Fire Department estimated the contents loss at $5,000.
