— The Delaware Police Officer Standards and Training Commission (POST) recognized 11 public safety professionals who completed its second annual POST Approved Instructor Course from July 20 to 24 at the University of Delaware Police Department. The five-day course brought together participants from agencies across Delaware, highlighting the state’s commitment to developing qualified instructors for law enforcement and public safety training. Participants represented the University of Delaware Police Department, New Castle County Department of Public Safety, Delaware Capitol Police, the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Newark Police Department and Delaware State University Police Department. The POST Approved Instructor Course prepares experienced law enforcement officers and public safety professionals to become POST-approved instructors for academy and in-service training programs. POST aims to improve the professionalism and behavior of officers by setting qualifications for recruits, education and training requirements, and training standards.
