The US Embassy has announced that Amy V. Diaz has been appointed Chargé d’Affaires ad interim in Georgia. According to the embassy, Diaz is a senior career member of the US Foreign Service and has served in the role since July 2026.Who is Amy V. Diaz? Amy V. Diaz has held a range of diplomatic and leadership positions throughout her career. Before her current appointment, she served as Chargé d’Affaires ad interim and Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Lilongwe, Malawi. Alan Purcell initially led the mission, before Amy W. Diaz was appointed US Chargé d’Affaires ad interim to Georgia in July 2026.
