A POPULAR Coventry teaching assistant has been given a musical retirement send-off by staff and pupils after almost 30 years at a ‘magical’ primary school.
Rita Chitty, who joined Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School in 1996, has retired after three decades at the school on Brays Lane.
Rita, who has also worked as a lunchtime supervisor at Sacred Heart, launched the school’s Rise and Shine Club in 2003.
Paul Madia, Executive Principal at Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School, said: “Rita has played an incredibly important role in the life of Sacred Heart since joining in 1996.
“Her kindness, creativity and commitment have had a lasting impact on countless children and families, and she will be hugely missed by everyone at Sacred Heart.”
