Officials and others during the inspection of Phesama Sinking Zone (Chainage Km 191+840 to Km 192+100) along the Kohima–Mao section of National Highway-2 on July 30. It was decided that machinery for continuous clearance of debris will be stationed at the affected stretch to facilitate uninterrupted traffic flow. Two lighting units and traffic warning placards will be installed at both ends of the sinking zone to monitor possible rockfalls and enhance the safety of travellers. To ensure smooth traffic management, traffic police personnel will be deployed at the site to regulate the movement of vehicles. The DC also urged officials stationed at the affected stretch to remain in constant communication with the District Administration and the Police.
