“There are growing forms of trafficking in persons for forced criminality, closely intertwined with cybercrime, financial fraud, money-laundering, for commercial sexual activities and forced labour,” he said.
Jamir said that Nagaland is a key point of origin, transit route, and destination for human trafficking.
Jamir also acknowledged the services being provided by Mission Shakti centres in the state, who have been actively working to ensure the safety and security of women.
He said that Women Helpline-181 (Women & Child Development Control Room) was up in Kohima including Shakhi-One Stop Centres in 17 districts and Shakti Sadans in 6 districts of Nagaland.
He said that the department is taking up the matter with the Ministry for early release of pending honorarium to staff under Mission Shakti.
