Nicknamed the “Venice of the Cotswolds”, it is famed for the shallow River Windrush running through the centre of the village, crossed by low stone footbridges and lined with honey-coloured cottages. However, a new report in The i Paper has featured several interviews with local residents who complain of the high volume of tourists coming to the town each year. Charlotte Joynes added: "We’ve got people taking Cotswold stone home – so they’re picking stones out of the wall." The report adds that "plenty of stones are missing" from the drystone walls in the popular Cotswolds village.
