Mother and daughter RNLI crew from Fife star in new lifesaving film

The mother and daughter joined RNLI Anstruther’s lifeboat crew together just over a year ago and now respond to callouts, train with fellow volunteers and serve their coastal community side by side.

(Image: Supplied)Mhairi said joining at 40 was a chance to challenge herself, reconnect with her family’s ties to the sea and give something back locally.
Maisie, a lifelong swimmer, swim teacher and Scottish Swimming ambassador, began her journey in water safety as a lifeguard before stepping up to the lifeboat crew.
The film explores how their shared role has brought them closer, with both describing their station as an extended family while proudly wearing the RNLI’s distinctive yellow kit, developed in partnership with Helly Hansen.
