After the collision in Cairneyhill, 37-year-old Barr said he had suffered a seizure behind the wheel.
Barr, of Miller Avenue, Crossford, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court, having previously admitted drug-driving in Main Street, Cairneyhill, on August 14.
The court was told that at around 7.40pm there was a crash involving a Ford Transit van driven by Barr and police were called.
Defence solicitor Lucy Martin previously told the court: “He was significantly struggling with drug misuse, particularly cocaine.
At sentencing, Sheriff Krista Johnston said: “The circumstances could have been quite catastrophic.”
