Tirupati: The Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) has sealed Biryani Factory, a popular restaurant near Jagjivan Ram Park, after a complaint that a young girl suffered suspected food poisoning after consuming food prepared there. During an inspection on Thursday, health officer Dr Yuva Anvesh and civic officials found several food safety and municipal violations while the girl continued to undergo treatment. The restaurant was found to be operating without a municipal trade licence. Considering the serious public health risk, officials sealed the restaurant. The food safety officials collected biryani and curd samples and sent them for laboratory analysis to determine whether the food was unsafe or adulterated.
