Rains Help Hyderabad To Overcome Winter Water Shortage

Hyderabad will not have a drinking water shortage till summer 2027, thanks to heavy inflows into Godavari-linked projects after recent rains, said officials of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB).
Of this, 162 MGD is sourced from the Sripada Yellampalli project on the Godavari.
Inflows into the Yellampalli project has risen to 1,91,275 cusecs following the rain, with storage increasing from 8.1 tmc ft four days ago to 16.21 tmc ft on Thursday evening.
