The trust says 211 babies were welcomed across its maternity services last month, including three sets of twins. Babies born at term – 37 weeks or over – ranged in weight from 5lb 7oz to more than 10lb. NCIC runs maternity units at Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle and West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven, as well as supporting home births across the patch. 112 babies were born at the Cumberland Infirmary whilst 94 were born at the West Cumberland Hospital and there were five home births3.3 per cent of babies were born on their due date.
