The Underground, located at 558 Christchurch Road in Boscombe, will launch in Bournemouth’s Creative Quarter on August 7, with an opening night headlined by punk-pop pioneers Sigue Sigue Sputnik Electronic. The 200-capacity venue is the brainchild of live music enthusiasts Hawkeye Houlihan and Hayley Goodrick. Ms Goodrick said: "We’re bringing back the monthly community music nights, including the popular Folk and Jazz clubs that were once a thriving part of Bournemouth’s music scene." The venue aims to host an eclectic mix of live music, club nights and community events. The launch event will feature Sigue Sigue Sputnik Electronic, fronted by founder member Martin Degville, the voice of global hit Love Missile F1-11.
