Liberal Democrat councillor Jack Davies made the accusation after the closed Solent Mead Care Home site in Lymington was sold to a developer. Nick Adams-King, Conservative leader of Hampshire County Council, said no lie was made and all of the administration’s decisions had been open and transparent. Solent Mead closed in 2024 alongside six other care homes across Hampshire. Speaking at July’s full council meeting, Cllr Davies, who was elected to represent Lymington and Boldre in May, asked what the future plans were for the Solent Mead site. Cllr Adams-King said there appeared to be a “spat” between Cllr Davies and Mr Dunning over Solent Mead.
