Scotland has joined all other UEFA nations in a boycott of the World Cup if FIFA plans to sell off stakes in its major competitions. UEFA said no European nation will participate in any FIFA competition for so long as proposals to create a company to run the World Cup remain alive. “We unanimously and unequivocally reject FIFA’s proposal to transfer ownership interests in the World Cup and other FIFA competitions to private investors. “The World Cup cannot be treated as an investment product. The 2030 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to be jointly hosted by Morocco, Portugal, and current champions Spain.
