Rangers have signed South African defender Olwethu Makhanya in a deal worth £3m, STV Sport understands. The 22-year-old joins from MLS side Philadelphia Union on an initial four-year deal, with the option of an additional year. The centre back went on to make 49 appearances, leading to a call up to the South Africa squad for the World Cup.
