The headlines for OpenStar Technologies are often breathless news on the company’s journey to develop fusion energy. The race is on worldwide to achieve this groundbreaking progress, and the Kiwi entrepreneur behind OpenStar, Dr Ratu Mataira, is taking a divergent path from others, with his levitating dipole. Ambitious though this mission is, it is just the first project on the list for Mataira, who founded OpenStar in 2021. Broadly, the vision is for OpenStar to be a place where people come together to tackle their most existential challenges.
